Please consider joining our movement to reinvent education in our communities by serving as a mentor and/or tutor. Our mentoring and tutoring program operates in a unique way:
Mentoring. Since students’ course of study involves working on real projects connected to college and career settings, mentors are critical in providing students with insights into how preparation and learning occurs in the professional world. Mentors also have opportunities to provide critical feedback on students project work to ensure high quality learning experiences
Tutoring. Equity Lab believes that all students require support to achieve their highest potential. Tutoring is not a program that is separate from the classroom but is integrated into classroom learning. Tutors work with students within the classroom and collaborate closely with teachers to ensure that tutoring is always connected to their academic and co-academic learning experiences
Please note that because Equity Lab has a unique vision for how mentoring and tutoring is to be conducted with students, all volunteers will receive ongoing training in how to best support students in their learning and development.
Please contact our office if you have any questions or are interested in applying to be a mentor or tutor.
